Yes, it is generally safe to travel to that region of Colombia. We recommend you to be up-to-date on routine vaccines. Yellow fever is usually recommended.

You do not need to speak Spanish as we will have a translator for the duration of our time together.

This experience is designed to focus on the rite of passage and the deepening of the bonds between you and your child, grandchild, niece or nephew. You will come out of this experience more deeply connected to your family member than the group around you.

We will provide (for a fee) a pair of jungle rain boots if necessary. We ask however that you come equipped for rain as the weather changes often in that part of the world. We will always find refuge at Salvia Madre in the event of too much rain for us to venture out.

We recommend travel insurance so that in the occasional event something happens during your trip, you can report losses, travel changes, or any necessary medical treatment, amongst other things.

We ask our participants to be in good health condition and able to walk or hike through jungle trails for up to two hours. We also ask everyone to be good swimmers.

Cell phone usage will be allowed during our downtimes, before breakfast and after dinner. As wifi is available at Salvia Madre.
